Nutrigenomics and Personalized Nutrition

At D-Signed Nutrition, we use nutrigenomics as part of a personalized, functional approach to nutrition care. Nutrigenomics explores how genes, nutrients, lifestyle, and environmental factors interact, helping us better understand why individuals may respond differently to foods, supplements, stress, exercise, and other health influences.

Rather than using a one-size-fits-all diet, we integrate genetic information with your symptoms, lab work, medical history, and lifestyle to create a plan that is tailored to your unique biology and health goals.

What We Commonly Address

Nutrigenomic support may be helpful when we are working on concerns such as:

  • Weight management and body composition goals.
  • Blood sugar balance, insulin resistance, and cardiometabolic health.
  • Inflammation, detoxification, and biotransformation support.
  • Energy, mood, sleep, and stress resilience.
  • Methylation, neurotransmitter balance, and micronutrient needs.
  • Food sensitivities, gut health, and immune-related concerns.
  • Long-term prevention and personalized wellness planning.

Genetic data does not diagnose disease on its own, but it can help us identify patterns and tendencies that may influence how we personalize your nutrition and lifestyle strategy.

Comprehensive Assessment

Your program begins with a detailed review of the factors that shape your health, including:

  • Personal and family health history.
  • Current symptoms, medications, and supplements.
  • Diet pattern, lifestyle, sleep, stress, and activity.
  • Available laboratory data and clinical findings.
  • Genetic testing results through 3X4 Genetics when appropriate.

We use 3X4 Genetics reports to better understand functional patterns related to nutrition, metabolism, detoxification, cardiovascular health, exercise response, and other lifestyle-related pathways.

Personalized Nutrition and Lifestyle Strategies

Depending on your report and clinical picture, your plan may include:

  • Macronutrient adjustments based on your metabolic patterns and health goals.
  • Personalized recommendations around dietary patterns such as Mediterranean-style, lower-carbohydrate, higher-protein, or other approaches that fit your physiology and lifestyle.
  • Targeted micronutrient and supplement recommendations when clinically indicated.
  • Guidance around exercise, recovery, sleep, and stress management.
  • Support for detoxification, methylation, inflammation, and other functional pathways based on genetic tendencies and real-world clinical findings.

Our goal is not to label genes as “good” or “bad,” but to use this information to make your care more targeted, practical, and individualized.

3X4 Genetics Support

We no longer use 23andMe as the foundation for our nutrigenomics services. Instead, we use 3X4 Genetics for reports and practitioner-guided support because the platform is designed specifically for personalized health and clinical application.

3X4 Genetics provides practitioner-facing reports such as the Blueprint report, which organize complex genetic information into actionable areas of focus that can be integrated into a comprehensive care plan. This helps us move beyond raw consumer data and toward more meaningful, guided interpretation within the context of your symptoms and health goals.

A Functional, Evidence-Informed Approach

Your genes are not your destiny. While genetics can reveal predispositions, health outcomes are also shaped by nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, environmental exposures, and other modifiable factors. Our approach is to use nutrigenomics thoughtfully—as one part of a broader precision nutrition model—to help you make more informed and personalized choices.

If you are interested in a personalized nutrition plan informed by genetics, we invite you to schedule a consultation to learn whether 3X4 Genetics support may be appropriate for you.
